Perimeter

The perimeter of a polygon is the length of all the sides in a polygon.

Calculating the perimeter has several practical applications. A calculated perimeter is the length of fence required to surround a yard or garden.

If the shape is a regular polygon, then we don't need to know exactly all the sides' length:


It is common that not all sides are measured when the polygon is a complex shape, so you need to calculate the missing dimensions:
